How SkillQuest Works
SkillQuest is a skill-based contest platform where your knowledge, speed, and accuracy determine your results. Every contest outcome is 100% skill-determined. There is no element of chance, randomness, or luck involved in any part of the scoring, ranking, or prize distribution.
Five Simple Steps
From sign-up to prize withdrawal, here is exactly how the process works.
Create Your Account
Sign up for free with your email. Verify your identity to ensure you are 18 or older and located in an eligible US state. Account creation takes under two minutes.
You will need a valid email address and to confirm your age and state of residence during registration.
Fund Your Wallet
Add funds to your SkillQuest wallet using a US debit card. Deposits are processed securely and appear in your balance instantly.
Minimum deposit is $5, maximum is $500 per transaction. You can set daily, weekly, and monthly deposit limits in your account settings for responsible spending.
Enter a Contest
Browse available contests by game type, category, and entry fee ($3-$25). Each contest displays the current estimated prize pool, which grows as more players join. 70% of all entry fees form the prize pool, split 50/30/20 among the top 3.
You can see the number of participants, entry deadline, time limit, question count, and difficulty level before entering. A minimum of 10 players is required — if not met, all entry fees are refunded.
Compete Using Your Skills
Answer questions as quickly and accurately as possible. All participants receive identical questions in identical order. Your score is calculated using the published scoring formula based on correctness, difficulty, and speed.
No randomness affects the questions you receive, the order they appear, or how your score is calculated. The same performance always produces the same score.
Win Prizes
When the entry window closes, final rankings are determined and prizes are awarded from the dynamic prize pool. Top 3 finishers receive 50%, 30%, and 20% of the pool respectively. Prizes are credited to your wallet automatically.
Withdraw to your US debit card via push-to-debit, with funds arriving in minutes. Minimum withdrawal is $10, maximum is $350 per transaction. No processing fees. Tiebreakers are resolved by fastest completion time, then equal prize split if still tied.
Scoring Formula
Our scoring system is fully transparent and deterministic. The same performance always produces the same score. This formula is identical to what is published in our Official Contest Rules (Section 6).
Base Points
Each correct answer earns base points determined by difficulty level. Incorrect answers earn zero points.
Speed Bonus
Answering faster earns a higher speed bonus. The bonus is proportional to how much time you have remaining.
// Speed Bonus Formula:
Speed Bonus = (timeRemaining / totalTime) × 10
// Example: 8s left out of 15s
// Bonus = (8/15) x 10 = 5.33 pts
Maximum speed bonus per question: 10 points. Minimum: 0 points (answered at the last second).
Streak Bonus (Speed Quiz)
In Speed Quiz mode only, answering 3 or more questions correctly in a row activates a streak multiplier on your total question score.
// Streak Condition:
3+ consecutive correct = 1.5x multiplier
// Applied to question score:
// (Base + Speed) x 1.5
The streak resets to zero upon any incorrect answer. This bonus applies only to Speed Quiz contests.
Complete Scoring Summary
// For each correct answer:
Base Points = Easy(10) | Medium(15) | Hard(20)
Speed Bonus = (timeRemaining / totalTime) × 10
Question Score = Base Points + Speed Bonus
// Speed Quiz streak bonus (3+ consecutive correct):
Question Score = (Base Points + Speed Bonus) × 1.5
// Final contest score:
Total Score = Sum of all Question Scores
// Ranking and tiebreakers:
1. Highest Total Score wins
2. Tiebreaker: Fastest total completion time
3. If still tied: Equal prize split (never random)
Five Contest Types
Each game type tests different skills. All contests use the same transparent scoring formula. Choose the format that matches your strengths.
Trivia Challenge
Test your knowledge across 8 categories: Science, History, Geography, Technology, Entertainment, Sports, Literature, and General Knowledge. Each contest presents multiple-choice questions at varying difficulty levels.
Speed Quiz
Rapid-fire True/False questions that test your quick recall under pressure. This is the only contest type with the streak bonus: answer 3 or more correctly in a row to earn a 1.5x multiplier. Incorrect answers break your streak and earn zero points.
Word Scramble
Unscramble jumbled letters to form the correct word. Vocabulary knowledge and pattern recognition determine your success. Over 1,000 words organized by difficulty level.
Math Blitz
Solve mental math problems at increasing difficulty. Starts with basic arithmetic and progresses to multi-step equations. Speed and accuracy are both critical to achieving a top score.
Pattern Match
Identify the next element in a sequence. Patterns include numbers, letters, and shapes. Tests logical reasoning and analytical thinking at varying complexity levels.
Zero Chance. 100% Skill.
SkillQuest contests are entirely skill-determined. There is no element of chance, randomness, or luck involved at any stage of any contest. This is a fundamental principle of our platform, not a marketing statement.
Here is specifically what this means:
- Identical questions: All participants in a contest receive the exact same questions in the exact same order.
- Deterministic scoring: The scoring formula is published and applies identically to every participant. The same answers given at the same speed always produce the same score.
- No random elements: No random number generators, no chance-based bonuses, no randomized difficulty, and no hidden modifiers affect the outcome.
- Transparent prize pool: 70% of all entry fees form the prize pool, split 50/30/20 among the top 3 finishers. The estimated pool is displayed before entry and grows as more players join. Final prizes are calculated when the entry window closes.
- Fair tiebreakers: Ties are broken by fastest completion time. If still tied, prizes are split equally. Ties are never broken randomly.
- Server-side validation: All answers and timestamps are validated server-side. Scores cannot be manipulated client-side.
SkillQuest is a skill-based contest platform. The outcome of every contest is determined solely by each participant's knowledge, speed, and accuracy. A more knowledgeable, faster, and more accurate player will always outscore a less skilled player given the same questions.
