2.1 Personal Identifying Information (PII)

When you create an account or interact with the Platform, we may collect your full legal name, email address, date of birth, state of residence, mailing address, phone number, and username. If you request a withdrawal or if required for identity verification, we may also collect your government-issued photo identification (such as a driver's license or passport), Social Security Number or Taxpayer Identification Number (for tax reporting purposes), and proof of address documentation.

2.2 Financial Information

When you make deposits or withdrawals, we collect payment card information, including card number, expiration date, cardholder name, and billing address. We also maintain records of your transaction history, including deposits, entry fees, prizes received, and withdrawals. Payment card numbers are tokenized and are not stored in their original form on our servers (see Section 6 for details).

2.3 Gameplay and Contest Data

We collect data related to your contest participation, including contest entries, questions answered, answers submitted, response times (measured in milliseconds), scores, rankings, streaks, contest results, and contest history. This data is essential for scoring, ranking, prize determination, leaderboard display, and fair play enforcement.

2.4 Technical and Device Information

We automatically collect certain technical information when you access the Platform, including your IP address, device type, operating system and version, browser type and version, screen resolution, device identifiers, referring URLs, pages visited, time spent on pages, click patterns, and general geolocation data derived from your IP address. We collect this information through cookies, web beacons, server logs, and similar tracking technologies.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• Account Management: To create, maintain, authenticate, and secure your account.
• Contest Operations: To facilitate contest entry, scoring, ranking, prize determination, and result display.
• Payment Processing: To process deposits, deduct entry fees, credit prizes, and facilitate withdrawals to your debit card.
• Identity Verification: To verify your identity, age, and location to comply with applicable laws and prevent fraud.
• Fair Play Enforcement: To detect, investigate, and prevent cheating, collusion, multiple accounts, bot usage, and other prohibited conduct through behavioral analysis and pattern detection.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal information under the following legal bases:

• Contractual Necessity: Processing necessary to perform our contract with you, including account registration, contest operations, scoring, prize distribution, deposit and withdrawal processing, and customer support.
• Consent: Where you have provided explicit consent, such as agreeing to these terms at registration, opting into promotional communications, or providing optional information. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.
• Legal Obligation: Processing required to comply with applicable laws and regulations, including age verification (18+), state eligibility enforcement, tax reporting obligations (IRS Form 1099 for winnings over $600), anti-money laundering requirements, and responding to lawful government requests.
• Legitimate Interest: Processing necessary for our legitimate business interests, including fraud prevention, anti-cheat enforcement, platform security, service improvement, and analytics — provided these interests are not overridden by your privacy rights.

5. Sharing of Information

SkillQuest does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes. We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service Providers and Processors: We share information with trusted third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf, such as payment processing (including card tokenization and push-to-debit services), identity verification, cloud hosting, email delivery, and analytics. These providers are contractually obligated to use your information only for the purposes of providing services to SkillQuest and are required to maintain appropriate confidentiality and security measures.
• Legal Obligations: We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.
• Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email and/or a prominent notice on the Platform of any change in ownership or use of your personal information.
• Public Leaderboards: Your username, score, and rank may be displayed on public leaderboards within the Platform. Your real name, email, financial information, and other PII are never displayed publicly.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:

• Encryption in Transit: All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.2 or higher).
• Encryption at Rest: Sensitive data stored on our servers is encrypted using AES-256 encryption.
• Card Tokenization: Payment card numbers are tokenized through our PCI DSS-compliant payment processor. We do not store full card numbers on our servers. Only tokenized references are retained for the purpose of processing future transactions.

• Infrastructure Security: Our hosting infrastructure includes firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and regular security assessments.

While we strive to protect your personal information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Platform's services. After account closure, we will retain your information for a period necessary to comply with our legal obligations (including tax reporting and anti-fraud obligations), resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and as required by applicable law. Specifically:

• Account and profile data: retained for 3 years after account closure.
• Transaction and financial records: retained for 7 years to comply with tax and financial reporting requirements.
• Contest and gameplay data: retained for 3 years after account closure for dispute resolution and audit purposes.
• Server logs and technical data: retained for 12 months on a rolling basis.

After the applicable retention period expires, your data will be securely deleted or anonymized so that it can no longer be associated with you.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights with respect to your personal information, including:

This section supplements the other provisions of this Privacy Policy for California residents.

Categories of Personal Information Collected: In the preceding twelve (12) months, we have collected the following categories of personal information as defined by the CCPA: identifiers (name, email, IP address, username); financial information (payment card details, transaction history); internet or other electronic network activity (browsing history, interactions with the Platform, gameplay data); and geolocation data (state-level location derived from IP address).

No Sale of Personal Information: SkillQuest does not sell your personal information to third parties. We have not sold personal information in the preceding twelve (12) months and have no plans to do so.

No Sharing for Cross-Context Behavioral Advertising: SkillQuest does not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes.

Your California Rights: As a California resident, you have the right to: (a) know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell; (b) request deletion of your personal information; (c) opt out of the sale of your personal information (though we do not sell your data); (d) correct inaccurate personal information; and (e) not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. 10. Children's Privacy

Because there is currently no industry standard for recognizing or honoring DNT signals, the Platform does not currently respond to DNT signals. However, we do not engage in cross-site tracking of our users and do not share personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
